In 2006, Smile for a Child Foundation awarded three major grants to different people and groups.
The first two grants were to provide cleft feeders to cleft and craniofacial teams in Oklahoma. The teams that receive our grants are all recognized by the American Cleft Palate Association. The cleft feeders are so specialized to fit a cleft babies need, and they are extremely expensive for new families. These bottles are called Haberman feeders. The two grants were given to the University of Oklahoma J.W. Keys Speech and Hearing Center Cleft Palate and the University of Tulsa Mary K. Chapman Center for Speech and Hearing.
The third grant was given to Jacob Morgan. The money was to be used for orthodontics services that were needed because of his cleft palate condition. The procedure was conducted by Dr. Douglas Kirkpatrick.
